Some Earlier Works

Some projects from when I attended the Capilano College Art Institute Program, where I used the amazing foundry, facilities, and advice from the faculty and technicians in the Studio Arts Program to realize several labour-intensive projects.  These projects all involved making weavings, or woven forms, in materials not typically associated with weaving, like stone and bronze.  I absolutely could not have done these projects on my own, without the help and facilities provided in the Studio Art Program, and I’m very disappointed to hear that this program has been cut due to the college becoming a university without a university’s budget.

Close-up of a weave - a woven form carved out of a single piece of stone, seen as it has weathered over the years in my parents backyard.
